Come enjoy a day at Memorial Park for an Anarchist Picnic on Saturday April 10th, 2010.
The Sierra Madre Anarchist Picnics are monthly events for local and not-so-local anarchists as well as anyone interested or curious about creating another world without capitalism, government or domination. Come hang out, make friends, eat food and share experiences. The picnics are also completely open to anyone who is respectful of the topics and ideas presented.
This picnic there will be a presentation by Anna Kunkin, a member of Los Angeles Independent Media (la.indymedia.org) on “Being the Media” instead of relying on other “professionals” to write about your experiences.
There will also be a small talk on Giles Duave (aka jean Barrot): Left Communism & Democracy:A Contribution to the Critique of Political Autonomy…while sipping coffee…sometime towards the later part of the event. Informal yet informative by Vladada, a member of the Acratas Collective and a former member of many different projects and collectives in the past from the LA area (Flor y Canto, Sandpaper Books, LA Anarchist Bookfair, Insane Dialectical Posse etc…)
The event starts at noon, is an Anything Goes Potluck, FREE, all ages, and there may be some performances.
Please bring a dish to share as well as any picnic-ware you feel necessary.
